How To Find UsFrom M6 - Exit at junction 36. Take the A 590 (A591) along the Kendal bypass to roundabout junction with A5284/B5284. Then via Ambleside or the ferry. Via the ferry - Take the first exit from the roundabout onto the B5284 to Crook – follow signs for ferry. At ‘T’ junction with A 5074 turn left and immediately right. Continue down the hill to junction with A 592. Turn right and then first left to ferry. After the ferry follow the B 5285 through Sawrey and along the side of Esthwaite Water. After about 4 miles you cross a small bridge on the outskirts of Hawkshead, take the next turn right. (Signed Ambleside/Coniston) Follow road around the village and where it swings right. Go straightforward into Barnfield (signed leading to Vicarage Lane and Walker Ground), then as above.* Public Transport - The nearest railway station is at Windermere. There is a regular bus service to Hawkshead via Ambleside (service 505 & 555/556). During high season there is a direct ‘Cross Lakes Shuttle’ bus service, via the ferry, between the railway station and Hawkshead. Walker Ground is about 300 yards from the bus stop in Hawkshead, and arrangements can be made, in advance, for assistance with luggage.
