Walker Ground Barn - Quality Self-Catering Accommodation
This converted traditional Lakeland stone barn is situated in a quiet rural location nestling amongst a small cluster of buildings at the end of a private lane.
It is only few hundred yards into the village of Hawkshead, which is pleasant walk either down the lane, or across the fields and through the churchyard.
Hawkshead has many places of historical interest. It has a small supermarket, newsagents and post office. Milk and other local fresh produce can be delivered daily. There are also several places to eat out in the village.
All the rooms have been stylishly furnished and decorated, and the property offers a high standard of accommodation. It is fully equipped with everything to make your holiday a successful relaxing experience.

There are many leisurely walks from the door and direct cycle access to the numerous mountain biking trails in Grizedale Forest. Nearby Esthwaite Water also offers fine fishing. There are many Beatrix Potter attractions in the area for those looking for ‘Peter Rabbit’. The busy centres of Windermere and Bowness are just a short ferry ride away.

Stairs to two bedrooms, both having vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. Beds in both rooms are offered as either super king-size or twins (please order at the time of booking.) The larger bedroom, equipped with sofa, TV/ DVD and CD/Radio, has views to both sides, with a large arched window at the front giving views of distance fells. There is a separate WC and washbasin also on this floor. Bedrooms 17’ x 11 (192 sq ft) 10’6 x 10’2 (106 sq ft)
Outside: Room to sit outside with garden table and chairs provided. Use of extensive woodland garden of the main house. Parking for one car – second by arrangement. Access to drying room and cycle storage at main house.
