Our lovely Lakeland stone barn is situated in a picturesque rural location at the end of a small quiet lane and next to the bridle path that leads up into Grizedale Forest. Only a short 5 minute walk into the centre of the village of Hawkshead and an ideal base from which to explore the whole of the South Lakes area.
Hawkshead is a beautiful village of historical interest and is home to a selection of independent shops including a small grocery store, delicatessen, chemist, outdoor clothing stores, the famous Hawkshead Relish and Grasmere Gingerbread shops and even an Ice Cream shop! There are Four Pubs, a Bistro and a Fish & Chip shop as well as a selection of cafes.
The Barn is comfortably furnished and well equipped to ensure a ‘home from home’ with everything you need to enjoy your self catering experience. The views from the large front bedroom are stunning.
There are many off road walks and cycle tracks straight from the door, with many interesting places to visit nearby, including Beatrix Potter’s home Hill Top, Wray Castle, Brantwood, Grizedale Forest and Esthwaite Water Fishing Centre. Ambleside, Coniston, Windermere & Bowness are just a short drive or ferry ride away.

Front Entrance: opens into an open plan living area.
Kitchen/Lounge: Kitchen Area with Oak doors and Lakeland Slate worktop. Electric Oven, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, Microwave. Dining Table & Chairs. Two seater sofas, Smart TV
From Kitchen/Lounge door head up 3 steps to the Inner Hallway
Inner hall: with Washing Machine, Tumble dryer and staircase to 1st floor.
Bathroom: on the Ground Floor with large P shaped bath with shower, Wash basin and WC.
Stairs: up to two bedrooms, both having vaulted ceilings with exposed beams.
The Master bedroom: a large room with feature window and fantastic views towards Latterbarrow and the distant fells. Super King sized Bed and sitting area with sofa & TV
The Second Bedroom has pine furniture and twin beds as standard with views across the fields.
NOTE: Both bedrooms can be either Super King or Twin on request.
There is also a Small Room with WC with Washbasin on this floor.
Towels, Tea Towels, Bath House toiletries, toilet rolls, DW tablets and cleaning fluids are all provided.
Pets: We accept one well behaved small/medium sized dog, subject to a small additional charge. Please note, your dog must be on a lead at all times outside on our property as we have free range hens in the open garden & alpaca’s in our field.
Outside: Room to sit outside at the front of the Barn with garden table and chairs provided. Please note children must be supervised at all times and the area is not enclosed.
There is ample Parking onsite and Cycle storage.
Our Bed & Breakfast is just next door and we will make you welcome on your arrival.
